Wasatch Wildflowers are Here!

July 20, 2011

One reason to run in the Wasatch are the awesome wildflowers covering the landscape in the month of July. On Monday, we went back up to Dog Lake and were amazed of the number and vibrance of the flowers. Please get out this week and next for hikes to see the spectacular scenary Utah has to offer. Get out and Run the High Country!!!!!!!!

For those interested in something a little more structured, or family friendly, go here. The Wasatch Wildflower Festival is beginning next Friday through the weekend. They have a full schedule of guided hikes, music and art. I recommend the hikes, especially if you are botantically inclined.

This week, I will be headed to the mountains above Telluride, Ouray and Lake City to enjoy the route of the Hardrock 100. While we are there, my friend Brian Johnson will be taking countless hours to photograph the same botantical interests there.
