Bringing Baby on Board

January 11, 2011

My wife and I have been trying to figure out the best way of taking our 19 month old baby with us during longer hikes. IN the past we were able to put her in the BJORN, or backpack. This was sufficient not only because of yet and ease, but because of the comfort with which we believed she was in. In the last few weeks, we have been re-evaluating this for our little girl.

She has seemed more uninterested or unable to rest during a several hour hike. IN addition the 30 to 40 extra pounds makes the hiking impossible for my wife and less intriguing to this light weight hiker. So we have been looking at alternative methods of transporting her. This was one of those good ideas on paper. In practicality, the sled method was not any better then the pack on tight and steep trails. Stay tuned we will have many other ideas for getting the baby on board
